A thorough evaluation of a child's literacy skills to identify whether dyslexia is present and to inform strategies to support learning.
The screener is administered face to face, taking between 50 minutes to an hour. The screener assesses literacy skills using a variety of standardised tests.
1. Prior to the screener, background information is gathered to establish educational and developmental history.
2. In person dyslexia screening test:
The following areas are tested:
Phonological awareness - the ability to recognise and manipulate sounds and spoken language
Phonological memory - the ability to recall spoken information
Processing speed - the speed at which a child can take in, understand and respond to visual informaition
Spelling - a graded spelling test
Reading - ability to read site words and nonsense words
3. Following the screening test:
A screening report is written to include an overview of of the individual's literacy strengths and challenges with recommendations for support.

Please note: This tool is a preliminary screening, not a formal diagnostic assessment. It cannot confirm dyslexia, but it can highlight possible areas of difficulty and guide you toward helpful next steps. If the results indicate potential challenges, a comprehensive specialist assessment may be advised.
The cost of the screener will be deducted from the price of the full diagnostic assessment if the assessment is completed within one month of the screening.
